When Jennifer was getting married she realised that she was going to find it very difficult to find beautiful shoes that fitted her feet, as she suffered from bunions. Scouring the internet she discovered there were no brands that did both fashionable and comfortable shoes for bunions. She was determined that one day she would address this problem. So 4 years ago Jennifer, pregnant with her second child and facing redundancy decided to follow her dream of setting up her own business.
Using her redundancy payment and maternity leave, she set up Calla Shoes, a brand of footwear specially designed for stylish women who suffer from bunions. In 2016, following 2 years of research, development and working with a podiatrist, specialist footwear fitters, shoe designers and a small footwear factory in Portugal, she launched Calla shoes on an ecommerce website.
